Course Description
This course enables students to enhance workplace skills through supervised practical experience. Sixty (60) industry work hours equal one credit hour. In addition, the students must complete assignments as well as a term project. Faculty make regular appraisals of the learning progress through on-site visits and consultations with supervisors. Learning Outcomes and Objectives
- The student will apply classroom knowledge in the workplace by working in a hospitality environment for a minimum of 8 hours per week.
- The student will develop an understanding of the hospitality workplace by:
- displaying professional attitudes and performing successfully on-the-job as measured by satisfactory evaluations.
- writing an essay to evaluate the on the job experience.
Criteria Performance Standard
Upon successful completion of the course the student will, with a minimum of 80% accuracy, demonstrate mastery of each of the above stated objectives through classroom measures developed by individual course instructors.
