Program Learning Outcomes
- The student will demonstrate the ability to do pre-embalming analysis, prepare an embalming solution, identify injection sites, evaluate embalming procedures, and determine areas adequately preserved for the dead human body. (Critical Thinking)
- The student will apply the knowledge of the ethical and legal guidelines associated with dealing with variations of funeral customs influenced by religions, cultures and geographical regions. (Ethics and Professionalism)
- The student will demonstrate the ability to prepare various types of legal documents, correspondence with families, clergy, doctors, and industry suppliers in the funeral home profession. (Communication)
- The student will be able to analyze statistical information to be able to determine prices of services and merchandise for the funeral home. (Math)

Graduation Requirements
Program Requirements
Complete 3 credits from the approved General Education Social and Behavioral Sciences coursework. Minimum grade of "C" required. Completing POS 2041 or POS 2041H or AMH 2010 or AMH 2010H or AMH 2020 or AMH 2020H will satisfy the course component of the Civic Literacy Requirement.
Competency may be demonstrated by completing at least one course from the approved General Education Civic Literacy coursework below (minimum grade of "C" required) AND satisfactory completion of an assessment (exam). Students completing AMH 2010 or AMH 2010H in Fall 2024 or thereafter will satisfy the Civic Literacy course requirement. This requirement is in compliance with Rule 6A-10.02413 of the Florida Administrative Code.
