Note:
Students residing within 250 miles of an SPC campus will be required to present in-person at the end of their Capstone course and should plan accordingly.

Our courses help students understand the broad concepts and systems involved in sustainability initiatives. Students with this knowledge can be valuable contributors to the growing sustainability needs worldwide. Sustainability managers will be needed in many vital sectors including: Manufacturing, Construction, Government, Military Contracting and International Business. Various Associate Degree programs are good foundational program feeds to the Sustainability BAS such as Engineering AS, Building Construction AS, Environmental Science AS, as well as the Hospitality and Tourism AS. Completion of various support courses or program courses may align or earn a certification or license.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. Develop innovative business strategies that improve the triple bottom line.
  2. Evaluate business processes to ensure both legal compliance and appropriate implementation of sustainable practices.
  3. Develop organizational change methods that promote achievement of corporate social responsibility goals.

Bachelor’s Degree Admission Guides outline criteria specific to each program including course requirements, GPA and the application process.

Graduation Requirements

G.P.A.: A grade of "C" or better is required in all courses.

GENERAL EDUCATION: All students must complete the 36 credit general education requirement in order to graduate from this program. A.S. degree holders may need to complete an additional 15-21 general education credits to complete the thirty-six (36) credit hour general education requirement.

FOREIGN LANGUAGE: If you have not completed two consecutive years of the same foreign language in high school or 8 credits in college, you will need to complete 8 credits of foreign language before completing the B.A.S. program.

CIVIC LITERACY: As per Florida Rule 6A-10.04213, baccalaureate degree students entering a Florida College System (FCS) or State University System (SUS) institution in the 2021-2022 academic school year and thereafter must demonstrate competency through successful completion of a civic literacy course AND by achieving a passing score on the Florida Civic Literacy Examination (FCLE).

Students who received an AS degree prior to entering Sustainability Management (SUSMGT-BAS) should complete 15 credits of General Education for their Lower Division Support Requirement. Relevant AS degrees include: Environmental Science Technology (ENVSC-AS), Building Construction & Design (ARCH-AS), Engineering Technology (ENG-AS) or Hospitality Management (HMGT-AS).
