Program Summary

The Bachelor of Science in Biology degree serves primarily to educate students for laboratory and field-related careers in the Biological sciences and as a transfer curriculum for graduate and professional schools.

The Academic Pathway is a tool for students that lists the following items:
  • the recommended order in which to take the program courses
  • suggested course when more than one option exists
  • which semester each course is typically offered

If you have already started the program, click one of the following for the archived Academic Pathways. Please verify the Academic Pathway lists your correct starting semester.

Program Learning Outcomes

  1. 1: Interpret and relate the concepts, principles, and theories that constitute the five primary fields in the biological sciences.
  2. 2: Appropriately conduct all aspects of scientific methodology, from experiment design to generating conclusions, in the scope of educational and research purposes.
  3. 3: Write in standard scientific format as well as review, discuss and present the findings in papers, technical reports, and other scientific communications.
  4. 4: Review the scientific literature with an active and systematic process that fosters understanding, supports sound decision-making, and guides action in the biological sciences.

Admission Requirements

Bachelor’s Degree Admission Guides outline criteria specific to each program including course requirements, GPA and the application process.
